“We are here to experience each other...”
Desirae Brown, Founder
After visiting 8 countries, two U. S. Territories, 25 U. S. States, and currently living in France as a language teaching assistant, I’ve realized travel is embedded in my DNA, it is my passion. My love for travel, a love for culture, a love for learning, thinking big and eating good food has created unforgettable moments of Interculture Connection in my life. Because of this, I am enthusiastically delighted to share, grow and build Intercuture Connection in the world…
But first, how did I get here?
Travel has been a way of my life since I was two months old, flying from my birthplace of Oberlin, Ohio to New Rochelle, New York to visit my Nana for my 1st Christmas. Since then, I have been on countless airplanes and a handful of road trips, including a most recent cross-country, mid-pandemic drive with my Mom from Portland, Oregon to Homerville, OH.
Living with family all over the east-coast, I spent the majority of my childhood traveling as an “unaccompanied minor” from my primary hometown of Portland, OR to my secondary hometown of New Rochelle, NY. In this way, airports, security lines, and baggage checks became second nature for me. When I was 11 years old, a suitcase fell on my head after landing at JFK airport. Yes, turbulence can cause overhead belongings to shift during the flight so open the overhead bins with caution please!
