Travel for Interculture Connection
Ask any globetrotter why they love to travel, you may get a myriad of answers. Some people enjoy seeing new things, staying at luxurious hotels, doing adventurous activities, or escaping from their everyday lives. While all of these reasons resonate with me and my previous travel experiences, my true passion for travel lies in intercultural connection.
Intercultural connection is the act of immersing, sharing and existing among diverse people, locations, ideas and ways of life. These interactions create space for people from all backgrounds to learn, experience, and share cultural knowledge amongst themselves and to others. Intercultural connection relies on travel. Travel into new towns, travel into new cities, travel into new states and travel into new countries. Most of all, intercultural connection depends on travel into new thinking.
If travel has shown me anything, I have learned that my way is not the only way. It is not the best way. It is not the most effective or efficient way. It is simply, my way. Intercultural connection allows for new ideas to be heard and experienced. It allows for all people to coexist with one another with reverence, authenticity, and knowledge.
